I was commissioned to create handwrite a poem for a client. I was inspired by his's Saxon roots and affinity for English countryside aesthetics and the design combines an Old English script with an illustrated cottage scene.

The main text of the poem is handwritten in Old English calligraphy style. A Victorian-style border frames the composition, enhanced by foxglove motifs for a quintessentially English touch. At the top, a hand-drawn cottage and garden create a picturesque backdrop, while an illuminated “F” at the poem’s beginning adds a regal flair. Subtle touches of purple in the foxgloves and initial highlight the piece’s focal points, ensuring the color accents stand out.
